For one night only, downtown celebutante, author and
art star, Reverend Jen, will stun audiences with the
sheer hilarity and brilliance of movies that she has
starred in, written or directed. (And if audiences
aren’t stunned at least they get complimentary pizza
afterward.) Since the screening is only an hour and
forty minutes long, she’ll only be showing her faves –
cinematic gems sure to light up the screen. Included
are the following:
Doo-Doo, Exile in Teletubbyland (directed by John
Ennis): What happens when Reverend Jen dons a brown
teletubby suit and hits the streets claiming to be the
“Pete Best” of the Teletubbies? For one thing, she
gets thrown out of FAO Schwartz!
Whitney le Blanc, NYU Hooker (directed by John Ennis):
Madness ensues when Reverend Jen goes undercover with
a hidden camera, to portray “Whitney le Blanc” a
former NYU student who turns to prostitution in order
to pay back 64,000 dollars in student loans!
Reverend Jen’s Really Cool Neighborhood (directed by
Reverend Jen): Installments from Rev. Jen’s
never-before-seen TV show. Jen interviews downtown
luminaries and engages in avant-garde puppetry from
the discomfort of her troll museum.
Une Martyre: French New Wave done with trolls!
Electra-Elf, “Don’t Worry Bee Happy!” (written by
Reverend Jen, directed by Nick Zedd: One of the latest
episodes from Jen and Nick’s increasingly popular
cable access super-hero show. This episode features
Jen’s 4 and 5-year old nephews as mutant insect
creatures from another planet.
And that’s just a taste! This evening will be many
things to many people, but guaranteed at no point will
it be boring!

Driller Killer To Be Remade: More remake news..This time it’s Abel Ferrara’s The Driller Killer, the tale of a New York artist who loses control and starts to do people in with a power drill. Not only did Abel write and direct this 1979 feature--but he also was the lead (using the name Jimmy Laine). The Driller Killer is to be produced by two British companies, Masterplan Films and Urban Way Productions, and will have a budget of 4 million. It will be written and directed by Andrew Jones--with shooting to begin in April.

Pumpkinhead 3 & 4 News: On March 27, Sony will release the third Pumpkinhead film, Pumpkinhead: Ashes To Ashes. The third entry into the franchise was directed by Jake West and it does feature a return by Lance Henriksen (now a ghost....). Also in the cast will be Doug “Pinhead” Bradley. The disc will be anamorphic widescreen with 5.1 audio.
If that’s not enough to keep Pumpkinhead fans happy, The Sci-Fi Channel will screen the fourth Pumpkinhead movie, Pumpkinhead: Blood Feud on Saturday February 10th at 9PM. It was directed by Mike Hurst.

Jodorowsky DVD box Set News: Fangoria got the scoop concerning the long rumored but not official until now Alejandro Jodorowsky DVD box set. On May 1st., Anchor Bay will release the Alejandro Jodorowsky box set. Included will be 1970’s El Topo, 1973’s The Holy Mountain, and 1968’s Fando Y Lis. Each movie has been digitally restored, with El Topo presented fullscreen, The Holy Mountain in 16x9-enhanced 2.35:1 widescreen and Fando Y Lis in 1.66:1 widescreen; the first two have Dolby 5.1 and 2.0 stereo soundtracks, with El Topo and Fando Y Lis in Spanish with optional subtitles and The Holy Mountain in English.
