Originally thought to be going direct to DVD, Diary Of The Dead did so well at Cannes that it was give a limited theatrical release. If it’s in your area--get out and see it. Midnite Movies Website: Remember a few years back when the great website DVD Drive-In started a petition to keep MGM’s Midnite Movies series active? I hope everyone reading this showed support by signing and, by now, I’m sure most are aware that Fox/MGM’s Midnite Movies DVDs are back in production. Recently, they’ve also given Midnite Movies it’s own website so check it out here and pick some up.

Code Red Hooks Up With BCI And Releases Are Announced: Code Red never seemed overly comfortable with its distribution deal with Media Blasters--so it should come as no surprise they’ve changed distributors. Now part of the BCI/Navarre family, Code Red’s early titles will be re-released and new DVDs will begin production in April. First up will be Sole Survivor and Boardinghouse. In May it will be The Dead Pit and reissues of Doom Asylum, Devil Times Five, The Forest, and Don’t Go In The Woods. Future titles include The Unseen, Can I Do It Until I Need Glasses, Beyond The Door, Butcher Baker Nightmare Maker, The Visitor, The Mutilator, The Nesting, Nightmare (produced by my pal since grade school Bill Paul--he gave himself a small part, too), Spasms, Terror Circus, Velvet Trap, Running Hot, and Caged Men. Wow!

PATRICK LESSIER--He has been the go-to guy for editing some of the top films at the box office but Mr. Lessier is also an accomplished director in his own right. He helmed DRACULA 2000, the Nathan Fillion recent release WHITE NOISE 2: THE LIGHT and will be heading up the remake of MY BLOODY VALENTINE!
GREG NICOTERO--He has graced us with his past appearances on the show and tonight we are thrilled to have him back once more! Mr. Nicotero's EFX credits began with KNB studios and his list of films are absolutely endless! Joan Collins Added To Wicker Man Cast Sequel: Moving along with preproduction for Robin Hardy’s sequel to his 1973 classic The Wicker Man, Fangoria has reported Joan Collins has replaced Vanessa Redgrave as Lady Delia Morrison. She co-stars with Christopher Lee who reprises his role from the original The Wicker Man. This film, titled Cowboys For Christ (from Robin Hardy’s novel of the same name), has a Texas gospel singer coming to Scotland to spread the word of the Lord. Their mistake is they stay in the home of Christopher Lee. Needless to say, this has absolutely nothing to do with the silly American remake of The Wicker Man.

Dario Argento Giallo News: Things are moving along with Dario Argento’s Giallo. Elsa Pataky has joined the cast which includes Asia Argento and Ray Liotta. Vincent Gallo has suddenly quit the cast--due to his refusal to work with Asia Argento. Apparently the two were a real life couple and things didn’t end very well. Hopefully, a replacement will be quickly found as the film begins shooting on March 17th in Turin, Italy.

Last House On The Left Remake News: The remakes continue. On March 24th shooting begins on the remake of Wes Craven’s nasty The Last House On The Left. The cast includes Martha MacIsaac, Rikki lindhome, Garret Dillahunt, and Rhys Coiro. Producers are Wes Craven (with his Midnight Pictures partner Marianne Maddalena) and original Last House producer Sean S. Cunningham. Dennis Illiadis is the director.
